Job Description - Retail Media Ad Ops Specialist

smartdept. is searching for a Retail Media Ad Ops Specialist for a national beverage distribution client. This is a fully remote contract opportunity with work that flexes based on campaign volume.

Our client runs a B2B ordering platform and sells onsite advertising to the brands that use it. This role owns the ad operations side: trafficking, configuring and troubleshooting an ad server at volume in a regulated industry. This is an ad ops role, not media buying.

What You'll Do:
* Configure and manage the client's ad server
* Build and maintain rule-based targeting in a regulated category
* Traffic and flight campaigns for brand advertisers, especially during peak volume
* Troubleshoot delivery issues and work directly with the ad server vendor
* QA advertiser creative to spec
* Partner with an analytics specialist on reporting back to advertisers
* Present your approach and past work to the client's leadership team

What You'll Need:
* Hands-on trafficking experience in AdButler or Kevel, or deep experience in a similar ad server (Google Ad Manager, CitrusAd, Criteo Retail Media, Koddi, Topsort)
* Experience with inventory and zone setup, targeting rules, QA, pacing and advertiser reporting
* Comfortable presenting to a client's leadership team
* Availability for a short pitch process in November (case study prep, a dry run and a 10-minute presentation slot)

Nice-to-Have Skills:
* Ad server migration experience
* Retail media network or B2B marketplace experience
* Experience in regulated categories such as alcohol, CPG or pharma
