This role can be based remotely.

Candidates must reside in one of the following states: West Virginia, Virginia, Texas, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C., New York, New Jersey, Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia, or South Dakota. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Risk Analyst, Merchant Acquiring position will be responsible for providing risk analysis to assist with oversight to the merchant acquiring line of business including credit, risk, compliance, and QA.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• This position assist in daily oversight of certain key areas in risk management (merchant boarding, underwriting, fraud monitoring, third party relationships) to ensure clients are compliant with the guidelines established by Card Brands as well as Acquiring Risk operations as a Bank BIN Sponsor.


• Due diligence activities include evaluating and investigating merchant websites for validity.


• Daily review of merchant transactions for suspected fraudulent activities


• Assist with the monthly audit sampling of merchant underwriting packages from clients.


• Assist with card brand day to day management to include card brand notifications, alerts and programs. This entails notifying clients, tracking and reporting to card brands in a timely manner.


• Work in unison with other bank risk partners. (BSA, Fraud Team, Audit, etc.)

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline preferred, but not required


• 3-5 years of experience in the following areas/industries: underwriting, business risk analysis, acquiring merchant services or banking. 


• Experience in evaluating credit and risk related to acquiring merchants and ISOs including but not limited to balance sheets, P&Ls, company spreads, tax returns, D&B reports, Lexis Nexis, etc. 


• Knowledge of card brand risk management preferred


• Experience with Merchant Acquiring card brand rules and regulations, specifically Visa, Mastercard, Discover


• Ability to analyze large volumes of data and identify high risk or unusual behaviors or patterns.


• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office as well as various risk monitoring systems.


• Superior organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities


• Strong written and verbal communication skills including communicating with management.
