Orbiss is an innovative, modern, and young firm breaking old habits of the industry. As such, Orbiss is growing and starting a sales tax practice to support its accounting and advisory team for our clients’ sales tax compliance.
As a Sales Tax Senior you will be responsible for:
Reconciling sales tax book accounts with sales tax returns
Reconciling sales per State per books and per sales tax returns
Purchase accounts review for use tax compliance
Perform state specific sales and use tax research
Identify and implement process improvements
Respond to notices from taxing jurisdictions
Manage the indirect tax compliance process
Coordinating and collaborating with other in-house tax professionals and clients
Review and approval of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual sales and use tax returns for multiple states, counties, and cities
Manage all aspects of the Sales and Use tax compliance process and ensure returns are filed timely and accurately
Manage the following types of sales and use tax consulting projects, technical research memoranda, nexus studies, exposure quantification, voluntary disclosures and other sales tax mitigation strategies, due diligence, and other state tax consulting projects
Performing tax related configuration in ERP and accounting systems.
Requirements
Completed at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
At least 3 years of experience in tax, including at least 1 year in sales tax consulting experience.
An ability to respect deadlines or communicate in advance if not doable.
An appeal to work in autonomy but with taste for team' spirit.
An ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
A work authorization in the US
Prior experience with international tax firms is a plus.
Working towards CPA is a plus.
