Overview Stellar Virtual seeks a highly motivated and certified Secondary Health/PE Teacher to join our team. This remote position will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective health and physical education instruction to students in grades 6-12 through our virtual learning platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of health and wellness principles, physical fitness concepts, excellent communication and technology skills, and a passion for fostering healthy lifestyles and physical activity in an online environment.. Responsibilities include curriculum implementation, assessment, individualized support, and collaboration to ensure student success.
Essential Duties
Deliver engaging and interactive live virtual lessons aligned with the Missouri State Standards for World Languages for grades 6-12.
Utilize a variety of online teaching methodologies, resources, and technologies to cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
Develop and deliver asynchronous learning activities, including interactive assignments, projects, cultural explorations, and discussions.
Provide clear and timely feedback on student work to promote language acquisition and cultural understanding.
Facilitate virtual language practice activities, including speaking sessions, role-playing, and collaborative projects.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
Implement the Stellar Virtual world languages curriculum effectively and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs and proficiency levels.
Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student language acquisition and cultural understanding.
Analyze student data to identify learning gaps and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with curriculum specialists and other teachers to enhance the world languages curriculum.
Support on-site testing events periodically throughout the year (required).
Participate in virtual professional development and collaborate with colleagues on online teaching best practices.
Work collaboratively with student support services (e.g., counselors, special education) to address student needs.
Attend virtual staff meetings and contribute to the overall success of Stellar Virtual.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
Native or near-native proficiency in the target language(s).
Minimum of two (2) years of successful teaching experience, preferably in a secondary setting.
Experience teaching a range of levels within the target language(s).
Demonstrated experience in utilizing online learning platforms and educational technology tools for language instruction.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the target language(s).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.
Passion for language acquisition, cultural understanding, and working with students.
Residency in the state of Missouri is required.
Education & Certification Requirements
A bachelor's degree in the specific World Language(s) being taught, World Language Education, or a related field.
A valid Missouri teaching license with an endorsement in the relevant Secondary World Language(s) (grades 6-12) or equivalent.
