This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Platform Security Engineer - REMOTE. In this pivotal role, you will own the security posture of the organization while ensuring platform reliability. You will combine your skills in infrastructure security with hands-on contributions to maintain operational excellence. As the first dedicated security hire, you'll be instrumental in establishing processes from the ground up while collaborating closely with the SRE team. Accountabilities
- Keep the platform reliable and secure by participating in on-call rotation and owning security incident response planning.
- Own the security posture and compliance by preparing for and passing security audits.
- Harden infrastructure by implementing principles of least privilege and driving network segmentation progress.
- Manage vulnerabilities systematically through an effective vulnerability scanning pipeline and triage process.
Requirements
- 5+ years in security engineering, platform engineering, or SRE with a strong focus on security.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes security, including RBAC and network policies.
- Experience with compliance frameworks like ISO 27001 or SOC 2.
- Strong cloud security expertise, preferably with GCP.
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Terraform.
- Ability to communicate complex security risks to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with CNCF security tooling and container security is a plus.
- Experience with Rust or Go is advantageous.
