About the Role

We are looking for a self-starter Senior Accountant  who wants a challenging position with opportunity for significant professional growth.  This role is responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities and other related financial activities.  The Senior Accountant’s primary responsibilities will include bank reconciliations, recording journal entries in the general ledger and financial reporting to various stakeholder in the company. 

What you’ll do

• Prepare and summarize financial and review and post journal entries.


• Prepare statements including balance sheets, profit and loss statements and cash flow statements on a monthly basis for complex funds and entity structures.


• Investigate significant variances in financial statements and report findings to executives.


• Reconcile general ledger accounts report in response to external audit and tax requests. 


• Review multiple bank accounts, verify deposits and address inquiries with staff.


• Research and resolve any customer credit card issues or refunds.


• Prepare sales and use tax returns on a monthly and quarterly basis.


• Assist in the annual budgeting process


• Prepare and file personal property tax returns.


• Treasury functions including cash consolidation and wire transfers.


• Assist in designing repeatable processes that turn manual processes into decision-ready or efficient outputs.


• Be a key contributor to modernization efforts across the Accounting function; proactively identify inefficiencies and champion innovative solutions that transform manual workflows into streamlined, decision-ready outputs, using AI, complex Excel models, or other systems and tools.


• Assist in construction accounting & capitalization of fixed assets


• Leverage Excel-driven financial analysis, using advanced Excel skills

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. 


• 5+ years of accounting experience required. 


• Experience with enterprise level accounting systems such as MS Dynamics, Yardi, Netsuite, MRI and/or other accounting software preferred.


• Experience with complex reporting environments and intercompany transactions preferred.


• CPA certification is an advantage but not required.


• Strong Excel skills including v-lookup functions, pivot tables, and build dynamic formula driven models. 


• Experience with and aptitude for continuous improvement. 


• Experience in use of AI and other efficient tools to improve processes is a plus.


• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.


• Must be detail oriented, organized and able to adapt within a highly dynamic environment.
