We are seeking an experienced Senior Appian Developer to design and deliver secure, enterprise-level applications and business process automation solutions. This position will support complex, mission-critical systems in a highly regulated environment.

The successful candidate will bring strong hands-on Appian development experience along with a solid understanding of solution architecture, application security, system integrations, database design, and the complete software development lifecycle. Experience connecting Appian with platforms such as PeopleSoft or Oracle is beneficial.

Required Qualifications:

4+ years of hands-on Appian development experience.

Experience working with Appian version 24.x or newer.

Strong knowledge of Appian application development, architecture, integrations, data management, and security.

Advanced SQL experience, including: Complex queries and joins, Stored procedures and functions, Triggers and indexing, Database performance optimization, Relational data modeling.

Strong understanding of REST and SOAP web services.

Experience working with JSON and XML.

Security+ CE certification or another qualifying DoD 8570 baseline certification.

U.S. citizenship is required.

An active Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Appian Certified Senior Developer (ACD-201) or Appian Certified Lead Developer credential.

Experience using Appian Data Fabric to connect and unify information from multiple data sources.

Experience integrating Appian with enterprise ERP systems such as PeopleSoft or Oracle.

Familiarity with PeopleSoft Integration Broker and Component Interfaces.

Ability to partner with PeopleSoft technical teams to define services and integration requirements.

Java or JavaScript experience, particularly for developing custom plugins when standard Appian connectors do not meet project requirements.

Experience working within an Appian Center of Excellence.

Experience in Agile, DevOps, or continuous delivery environments.

Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to building secure, high-quality applications.

Essential Duties:

Design and develop user-friendly Appian interfaces, including SAIL forms, dashboards, reports, and related application components.

Create unified user experiences that display and manage information from multiple enterprise systems.

Develop and maintain Appian Custom Data Types, Record Types, and supporting data structures.

Build end-to-end process models for workflow automation, approvals, notifications, case management, and other business processes.

Design and configure Connected Systems and Integration Objects for communication between Appian and external applications.

Develop secure REST and SOAP integrations using JSON and XML data formats.

Create and maintain Appian Web APIs for exchanging information with internal and third-party systems.

Implement secure authentication and authorization methods, including OAuth 2.0, SAML, and certificate-based authentication.

Write and optimize advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, indexes, and database objects.

Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and system owners to define integration and application requirements.

Ensure applications meet established standards for security, performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
