Description

Trout CPA is a regional professional services firm with offices located in Lancaster and Mechanicsburg, PA. With nearly 150 professionals, the firm serves a diverse spectrum of clients across the Mid-Atlantic and beyond. We are seeking a Senior Associate in our Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) practice.

This role will be hybrid whereby the candidate will be able to work remotely but will be expected to come into the office, client site, or attend conferences from time to time. Typically, this is no more than once per month.

Our TAS practice serves both corporate and private equity clients in providing buy-side and sell-side M&A advisory services. Over the years, our reputation as a boutique TAS provider to the lower-middle market has enabled us to forge excellent relationships with private equity firms, investment banks, and corporate acquirors. Our TAS practice provides services which include financial due diligence (Quality of Earnings), net working capital analysis, structuring and valuation guidance, pre-transaction preparation engagements, and post-acquisition assistance.

The successful candidate will:

  • Participate in buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements
  • Communicate with internal team members, external clients, and target companies
  • Prepare comprehensive financial databooks in Excel
  • Analyze financial information, including trends, ratios, metrics, and other analytical observations
  • Identify adjustments to EBITDA, NWC analysis, and Debt-like items analysis
  • Develop and mentor junior team members 

Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
    • CPA designation or significant progress towards CPA designation - strong preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in TAS required
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet unpredictable deadlines
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets; as well as proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Intellectual curiosity and an ability to concisely communicate key findings in a written report with supporting charts and exhibits
  • Comfortable navigating inconsistent accounting records and identifying material issues
  • High attention to detail
  • Team player
