About the Opportunity

An emerging AI infrastructure company backed by $15M in funding is looking for its first senior data professional to architect the systems driving their customer insights engine. The company has seen rapid growth and adoption among developers and is now scaling operations to support its expansion across product, marketing, and revenue.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage data infrastructure that consolidates customer behavior, usage metrics, and sales signals into a unified intelligence layer
• Create advanced SQL schemas and optimize PostgreSQL performance to support real-time insights
• Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and automation workflows using tools like n8n and modern API integrations
• Drive cross-functional analytics across product development, growth strategy, and marketing attribution
• Support AI-enabled processes by feeding clean, structured, and context-rich data to internal systems

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in data engineering in a startup environment, preferable developer-facing company.
• AI Enthusiasm: Actively uses AI tools and automation platforms like N8N or Zapier for data workflows.
• Advanced proficiency in PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization
• Experience building data automations and integrations using tools such as n8n or similar
• Strong analytical and statistical background; familiarity with ETL, data modeling, and predictive analytics
• Comfort using AI tools (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Codex) to accelerate analysis and workflows
• Demonstrated curiosity for customer behavior and product impact

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience as the first or sole data hire in a fast-paced startup environment
• Proven ability to translate data into actionable product insights
• Built AI-enhanced dashboards or decision-making tools
• Passion for leveraging automation and AI to streamline operational decisions
