Job Description - Senior QA Tester

Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior QA Tester with a proven track record in manual testing, API validation, and database verification within the banking or financial services sector. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and compliance of mission-critical financial applications. The ideal candidate will play a key part in shaping quality assurance processes, contributing early in the development lifecycle, and collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. With a strong command of SDLC and STLC, along with expertise in test design, defect management, and stakeholder communication, this professional will be instrumental in maintaining rigorous quality standards across all releases.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test cases and test scenarios
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman or equivalent
  • Carry out database testing through SQL queries, data validation, and backend verification
  • Identify, document, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA or similar platforms
  • Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes
  • Participate in requirement analysis to provide early testing insights and risk assessments
  • Ensure full test coverage, traceability, and adherence to established QA standards and procedures


Requirements


  • Location: Work From Anywhere (Remote or Work From Office)
  • Joining: Immediate Joiners Only
  • Project Domain: Banking
  • 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Manual Testing
  • Mandatory expertise in:
    • API Testing
    • Database Testing (SQL required)
  • Solid understanding of SDLC and STLC methodologies
  • Proficiency with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM)
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Selenium, Maven, or Cucumber is a plus (not mandatory)
  • Prior experience in the banking or financial domain is highly preferred
  • Fluent English communication skills – exceptional written and verbal proficiency required to effectively convey technical issues, test strategies, and client feedback
