To support our continued growth and ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting, we are expanding our revenue accounting team and seeking a skilled Senior RevenueAccountant to be based in Hyderabad, India, working closely with our U.S. corporate finance and accounting teams.
We are looking for a highly motivated, results-oriented accounting professional to join our QTC organization. As a Revenue Accounting team member, you will support the Quote to Cash teams, the monthly close process, analyze revenue trends, assist in the corporate audit and compliance efforts, and play a key role in the ongoing improvement of revenue processes. The role will be a key contributor to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition for our subscription, professional services and consumption-based products in Zuora/RevPro and Netsuite. This role will also provide an opportunity to perform technical accounting reviews around ASC 606 and 340, prepare technical memos and perform various analyses relevant to accounting for revenue in a U.S.-based multi-national SaaS company with financial reporting requirements under U.S. GAAP.
This is a hands-on position requiring a detail-oriented, proactive professional with strong operational accounting expertise and technical experience for a SaaS or technology environment. This critical hire will report to the local Accounting Director and Revenue Accounting Manager based in the U.S.
Your Daily Adventures:
- Perform UAT testing for new pricing and products or systems
- Review enterprise sales contracts and ensure appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606
- Collaborate with the Sales, Deal Desk, Revenue Operations, and FP&A teams to ensure accurate B2B revenue recognition while maintaining a streamlined and scalable process that supports business growth
- Manage month-end close to ensure revenue journal entries are recorded timely and accurately by US GAAP and internal policies
- Especially to help with the more mundane aspects of the PS entry (even after we made changes)
- Provide technical revenue accounting guidance as our business grows and adapts to meet the complex needs of enterprise customers.
- Has experience calculating Stand-alone Selling Price
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within the quote to cash process, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Work closely with the broader Accounting team to document processes and establish procedures and document controls within the quote-to-cash cycle to ensure compliance and risk management
- Compile and analyze quote-to-cash data, producing regular reports, metrics and insights for management and relevant partners
Our Vision of You:
- Must have Bachelors’ degree with preference to master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience with revenue accounting, U.S. GAAP ASC 606, with overall experience of 7-8 years in accounting.
- Software/SaaS experience required
- Experience with NetSuite required, Zuora/Revpro strongly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Readily available during the end of the month/quarter, with some overlap with the U.S. west coast workday.
