Position Overview
The Ruby Developer will join a technical team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade APIs supporting communication between internal, external, and third-party systems.
The ideal candidate is a strong Ruby on Rails engineer with hands-on development experience, strong API expertise, and the ability to contribute directly to production code while collaborating with technical leadership and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop APIs, including specifications, endpoints, data models, REST, and GraphQL.
Develop and maintain production-grade Ruby services.
Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality, maintainability, and security.
Collaborate with Technical Leads, Engineering Crew Leads, and API Architects.
Integrate APIs with internal systems, external applications, and third-party services.
Use AI-enabled development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation.
Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure development practices.
Collaborate with external engineering teams on technical standards, governance, compliance, and ongoing cATO maintenance.
Monitor and optimize API performance, reliability, and scalability.
Manage API versioning and backward compatibility.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement enhancements.
Participate in Tier 1 and Tier 2 on-call operations.
Required Qualifications
6+ years of strong Ruby on Rails experience.
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Experience with RSpec testing framework.
Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs.
Ability to lead engineering teams while remaining hands-on with development.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
