Service Technician - Boone, IA

Axis Builders, a division of AXIS Real Estate Investment Firm, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the team as a full-time Service Technician in Boone, IA. The applicant’s responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks aimed at renovating, repairing, and maintaining rental units to ensure they meet high-quality standards and provide a comfortable living environment for tenants. 

Key Responsibilities

• Execute renovation projects as per company guidelines and standards. This includes but is not limited to painting, flooring replacement, fixture installation, and minor carpentry work.


• Conduct routine inspections and perform repairs promptly as needed. Tasks may involve plumbing repairs, electrical troubleshooting, HVAC maintenance, and addressing general wear and tear issues.


• Inspect, repair, and replace appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, and washing machines to ensure functionality and safety.


• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing duties. Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner to prevent accidents and injuries.


• Maintain clear and effective communication with property managers, tenants, and colleagues regarding maintenance requests, project updates, and any issues encountered during work assignments.


• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and renovations performed. Document any materials used and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies are available.


• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, including after hours emergencies, to address critical issues and minimize disruptions for tenants.


• Uphold high-quality standards in all renovation and maintenance work. Strive to achieve superior outcomes that enhance the overall appeal and value of rental properties.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in renovation, repair, and maintenance work, preferably in a rental property or similar setting.


• Proficiency in various trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting.


• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.


• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with tenants, property managers, and fellow team members.


• Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to industry regulations and best practices.


• Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts to address urgent maintenance needs.


• Physical stamina and agility to perform tasks that may involve lifting heavy objects, working at heights, and navigating confined spaces.
