Software License Compliance – Senior Associate

With the continuous business growth and expansion of Connor and its clients, we are looking for Associates and Senior Associates based in South Korea to help us further build our capabilities and manage global client projects. The Associate team, with the support of the leadership team, advises clients on license compliance initiatives and executes the daily activities associated with license compliance reviews. This role involves various compliance related projects, including audit project management and data analytics.
Responsibilities
- Lead all activities associated with software license compliance reviews, including project management, deliverable creation, client status reporting, and overall execution.
- Perform extensive Excel-based analysis as part of audit execution, internal client initiatives, and other services.
- Interact with cross-functional teams at clients/licensees and manage multiple reviews across various clients simultaneously.
- Prepare and conduct peer reviews for all client deliverables, including reports and calculations.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of client businesses, technologies, and risks while maintaining up-to-date technical and industry knowledge.
- Assist in leveraging technology-based tools and methodologies to review, design, and implement services and offerings.
- Identify opportunities for new services, methodologies, and process improvements for both internal teams and clients.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor junior staff members, contributing to training initiatives and promoting a positive workplace culture.
- Develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with clients and key industry contacts to drive revenue and expand service offerings.
- Participate in sales initiatives related to license compliance programs.
- Support the development and implementation of internal operational policies to enhance infrastructure growth.
- Assist the management team with engagement financials and client business review deliverables.
Experience, Skills, and Characteristics
- Must be based in South Korea with flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- At least a Bachelor's Degree in any field.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing role and/or in audit/software license compliance review.
- Previous experience in a compliance team at one of the Big 4 firms preferred.
- Software license compliance review experience preferred.
- Strong background in auditing techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams.
- Native-level proficiency in Korean (both written and spoken).
- Strong in-person communication skills with the ability to conduct domestic and international onsite visits as needed.
- Proven experience in building strong relationships and instilling trust with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to adapt to different licensee conditions and cultural differences while executing audits.
- Resilient and confident in handling objections, with the ability to navigate challenging conversations with clients in a professional and strategic manner.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to make prudent business decisions.
- Professional and personable demeanor.
- Flexibility to work effectively across multiple engagement teams, clients, and licensees in different time zones.
- Self-motivated and highly independent in managing tasks and responsibilities in a remote work environment, with strong time management and accountability.
- Hardworking, detail-oriented, and capable of motivating and managing engagement teams.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
