Job Description - Special Education Related Services Coordinator

In collaboration with the Regional Special Education Coordinator, Head of Schools, Principals, and Special Education Supervisors in the ACCEL Ohio Online schools, the Regional Related Services Coordinator supports the Department with related service roster management, compliance monitoring (document quality, timelines, data collection), and supervision of related service personnel. Additionally, the Regional Related Services Coordinator serves as a team member to each school’s MTSS and RTI process as a liaison to ensure each student is met with all Child Find indicators and procedures at the local, state, and federal levels.

About the Opportunity



  • Attend relevant trainings offered by county agencies and the department of education to stay current on regulations and best practices

  • Serve as hiring committee for potential related service staff at all Ohio Online schools

  • Develop and facilitate professional development and training on varied topics based on data and trends collected throughout the school year

  • Periodically conduct Internal Monitoring procedures with Special Education documents, including IEPs and ETRs, for compliance and quality and provide feedback

  • Act as district representative at ETR and IEP meetings as needed

  • Collaborate with Data Compliance / EMIS Specialist to ensure proper EMIS reporting for all Special Education events

  • Monitor student rosters for timeline compliance

  • Serve as direct supervisor to Related Service Providers

  • Maintain Related Services Caseload rosters

  • Ensure attendance policy and procedures are maintained by Related Service Providers as approved by each school’s governing Board

  • Serve as a point of contact and manage supplemental program access.

  • Participates in trainings and meetings (occasional travel required)

  • Perform all other job duties as assigned


About You



  • Master’s Degree preferred or 5+ years Special Education supervision

  • Minimum 3 years of experience providing special education services in an online model

  • Current Ohio Special Education Teacher or Administrator Certification

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products

  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentiality.

  • Demonstrates a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethic.

  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional client situations

  • Ability to make sound judgments after all available information has been gathered or communicated.

  • Demonstrates a mature attitude and insight into matters affecting department, self and / or company welfare.

  • Demonstrated leadership and management ability.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks to meet deadlines consistently.

  • Ability to learn recent technologies and acquire new skills through independent study, professional training, and from more senior team members

  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team

  • Understanding and ability to manage confidential information

  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
