Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)



Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Per Diem
Location: Schools within NECSD & Homebound Students
Reports To: Clinical Supervisor / Program Manager



Job Summary


We are seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide school-based and home-based speech therapy services to students with disabilities in grades Pre-K to 12. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and implement intervention strategies to support students in achieving their educational goals.



Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct speech-language evaluations for students referred through the Committee on Special Education (CSE)

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on assessment results

  • Perform feeding and swallowing assessments if required

  • Provide direct and indirect therapy to students during school hours

  • Deliver therapy sessions using evidence-based interventions aligned with ASHA principles

  • Monitor and document student progress towards IEP goals

  • Provide therapy services for homebound students as needed

  • Maintain detailed treatment logs, progress notes, and reports using IEPDirect or school-mandated systems

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and NYS regulations regarding student data privacy

  • Participate in IEP meetings to discuss student progress and necessary interventions

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, school administrators, and special education teams

  • Educate families and caregivers on at-home strategies to reinforce speech-language skills


Qualifications & Requirements



  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders

  • New York State License as a Speech-Language Pathologist

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred

  • Minimum one year of experience in a school or pediatric setting

  • Knowledge of IEP documentation and school-based therapy protocols

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse student populations


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus

  • Prior experience working in New York school districts
