The Senior Broadcast Systems Engineer is a strategic, customer-facing technical leader within NETGEAR’s growing Broadcast business. This role combines deep expertise in IP networking and broadcast workflows with the commercial awareness needed to support partners, influence solution design, and drive market adoption.

As the technical face of NETGEAR in the broadcast ecosystem, you will work closely with OEM partners, system integrators, production facilities, and enterprise studios to validate solutions, drive design wins, and establish NETGEAR as a trusted networking partner for modern IP-based broadcast environments.

This is a U.S.-based remote role, with a preference for candidates located on the East Coast.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as NETGEAR’s senior technical authority for broadcast and live production environments.

  • Develop and maintain technical integrations with leading OEMs (e.g., Riedel, EVS, Clear-Com, Panasonic, Grass Valley).

  • Design, validate, and support IP-based broadcast workflows including AES67, Dante, Ravenna, ST 2110, NDI, IPMX, and PTP-sensitive environments.

  • Architect and maintain lab environments, testbeds, and demos used for validation, enablement, and customer engagement.

  • Partner with Sales, Business Development, and Alliances to support strategic accounts and drive early design influence.

  • Deliver technical enablement for internal SE teams and partners through training, documentation, and best practices.

  • Provide direct field feedback to Product and Engineering on switching, multicast, QoS, redundancy, and PTP performance.

  • Represent NETGEAR at industry events such as NAB, IBC, and InfoComm, supporting demos, content, and thought leadership.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong IP networking foundation combined with hands-on broadcast engineering experience.

  • Expertise with professional broadcast audio and IP video technologies:

    • AES67, Dante, Ravenna, SMPTE ST 2110

    • Multicast, IGMP, QoS, and PTP

  • Experience supporting production facilities, intercom systems, OB trucks, post-production, or enterprise studios.

  • Exposure to partner engagement, business development, or technical sales.

  • Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills.

  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.

  • Requires frequent travel (up to 60%), including short-notice and international travel.

Technical Expertise:

  • Layer 2/Layer 3 switching, VLANs, multicast routing, IGMP behavior, QoS, and redundancy models.

  • Real-time media transport and timing architectures (PTP boundary and transparent clocks).

  • Broadcast control and orchestration platforms (e.g., NMOS, Evertz MAGNUM, Nevion VideoIPath, EVS Cerebrum, Riedel Director).

  • End-to-end design and troubleshooting of broadcast audio/video networks.

  • Monitoring and analysis tools (packet capture, PTP analyzers, telemetry).

  • Automation, APIs, or scripting (REST, Python) a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with broadcast or professional A/V manufacturers, system integrators, or production facilities.

  • Familiarity with OEM ecosystems such as Riedel, Clear-Com, EVS, Panasonic, Grass Valley.

  • Experience with IP orchestration or monitoring platforms (e.g., TAG, Nevion, Evertz).
