As a Strategist Belgium-Netherlands at OVAL, you will take the lead on strategic issues for clients in both countries and contribute to the direction and growth of our agency. You’ll work closely with colleagues from both countries to strengthen the strategic vision and approach. You have a deep understanding of experience-driven communication and know how to help brands make an impact on their target audiences.
Your responsibilities:
You are part of the strategy team in both the Netherlands and Belgium, ensuring a strong substantive and strategic foundation within the organization and inspiring your direct colleagues. You report directly to the Managing Director Netherlands.
You develop and implement strategic directions and appropriate content for our clients (B2B, B2C, and B2E), translating these into plans/presentations with concrete communication, campaign, and event strategies.
You work with the Managing Directors and the creative team to create innovative, effective, and impactful Brand Experiences for a variety of client challenges.
You are responsible for guiding and challenging the other (junior) strategists within the team and ensure their development.
You delve into human behavior (employees, consumers, and B2B partners) and the markets and sectors in which our clients operate, identifying trends and insights that contribute to innovative strategies.
You build strong relationships with clients and help them formulate their strategic objectives and solutions by, among other things, designing and leading strategic sessions, workshops, co-creation sessions, and presentations.
You translate complex client questions into sharp and inspiring creative briefs and convincing presentations.
You contribute to OVAL’s business development strategy by working on pitches and (proactive) proposals for potential clients.
You ensure the quality and consistency of our strategic output in both the Netherlands and Belgium.
You work with OKR methodologies to formulate, measure, and deliver clear objectives, ensuring that strategic goals remain measurable, challenging, and inspiring.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a strategic role within marketing, communications, or branding, preferably in an agency setting.
Proven experience in leading teams and managing multidisciplinary projects.
In-depth understanding of experience-driven communication and its impact on brand experience.
A critical thinker with an analytical and curious mindset.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex material clearly and persuasively.
Proactive, entrepreneurial, and hands-on: you see opportunities and seize them.
A strong team player who connects and promotes collaboration between the teams in Belgium and the Netherlands, including working from our Antwerp office once a week.
Fluent in Dutch and English. French and German are a plus.
