About the Role:

As a Marine Diesel Technician based in Long Beach, CA, you will:

• Diagnose and inspect marine diesel engines, identifying deficiencies.
• Perform engine overhauls and repairs in both shop and field settings.
• Conduct sea trials to verify performance and make necessary adjustments.
• Manage costs effectively by leveraging warranties and evaluating service/parts options.
• Document all work performed to maintain accurate engine and vessel records.
• Ensure a safe and organized work environment in compliance with company standards.
• Communicate professionally with customers while on-site.
• Perform MTU engine commissioning trials.
• Provide training and mentorship to apprentice marine technicians.

What You Bring:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical schooling is a plus).
• Experience: 
  • 5+ years of experience working on marine diesel engines (Large bore experience preferred).
  • Strong expertise in MTU engines required.
  • Experience with MTU MCS/RCS electronics preferred.
  • Experience with Diasys software is a plus.
• Technical Skills: 
  • Strong laptop/PC skills
  • Ability to read service manuals & work orders
  • Fluent in using electrical multi-meters
  • Thorough understanding of diesel engine electronic controls
  • Excellent problem-solving & diagnostic abilities
• Other Requirements: 
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license & insurable
  • Own set of mechanic’s tools
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) is a plus
  • Ability to travel frequently within an assigned territory, with potential for international travel
  • Completion of company-provided manufacturer training (online & in-person)

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive Pay: $42.00 - $55.00 per hour (based on experience).
• Additional Field Pay: $1.50 per hour when working in the field.
