Toxicologist

Millennium Health LLC is an accredited specialty laboratory with more than a decade of experience in medication monitoring and drug testing services, helping clinicians monitor the use and misuse of prescription medications and illicit drugs. The testing is used by healthcare professionals to obtain objective information about patients’ recent use of prescription medications and/or illicit drugs and helps monitor the effectiveness of treatment plans.

• The Toxicologist provides consultations to Millennium client physicians and their staff.  These involve the interpretation of patient urine drug test results reported using advanced LC-MS/MS techniques.
• Demonstrates expertise and extensive knowledge of drug nomenclature, drug metabolism and analytical toxicology. 
• Demonstrates ability to clearly and professionally communicate complex scientific problems to physicians and non-scientists.
• A client service demeanor is required. Unresolved client issues are escalated immediately through client support.
• Demonstrates expertise and extensive knowledge of Millennium services, clinical research, publications, and treatment and monitoring trends and guidelines
• Responds appropriately to unsolicited scientific questions or requests. Anticipates questions and is prepared to provide an appropriate response utilizing relevant approved materials.
• Utilizes expertise to further understand and gain insight into scientific activities and treatment patterns occurring within the therapeutic field. Utilizes expertise and interactions to understand and define the needs and interests of healthcare providers and patient needs.
• Pursues educational opportunities to maintain advanced and up-to-date knowledge in technology and field.
• Performs all other related duties as required and assigned and understands that the items in this description are not all-inclusive.

• Ability to ensure HIPAA, Confidentiality and Compliance policy, procedures, and standards are always adhered to.
• Ability to ensure administrative, physical and technical cyber security controls are always adhered to.

Pursues educational opportunities to maintain advanced and up-to-date knowledge in the field.  Performs all other related duties as required and assigned and understands that the items in this description are not all-inclusive.

• PharmD, or BA/BS in Natural Sciences and national credentialing in toxicology, e.g. NRCCC or equivalent
• Preferred 2+ years of experience in toxicology that includes physician consultations; therapeutic expertise in any of the following are strongly preferred: toxicology, addiction medicine, and pain management
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, expertise communicating complex scientific and clinical data, successful history working independently.

Potential Hiring Range:

• Salary Range:  $71,500-$80,600 / year
• Salary offered is dependent on qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
• This is a part-time exempt opportunity preferably working 7 am PDT-12 pm PDT Monday through Thursday, with some flexibility in the schedule.
