Turn your customs expertise into trusted client guidance.

At GHY, we don’t just move goods across borders. We help businesses navigate complexity, manage risk, and trade with confidence.

For more than a century, GHY has supported importers and exporters across North America. As a Best-Managed Employer and family-led organization, we’ve built our reputation on expertise, integrity, innovation, and genuinely caring about our clients and one another.

If you’re an experienced Licensed Customs Broker who enjoys solving complex trade challenges, advising clients, and being the person others turn to for answers, this could be your next move.

About the Role

This isn’t simply an entry-processing role.

As a Trade Consultant, you’ll use your customs expertise to help clients solve complex trade challenges, identify compliance risks and opportunities, and make informed decisions.

Reporting to the Director of US Trade Services, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, working directly with clients while also sharing your expertise with colleagues across GHY.

  • Navigate the complexities of CBP. Draft CBP Binding Ruling Requests and support verifications, post-entry corrections, and coordination with CBP and Partner Government Agencies.

  • Spot risks and opportunities. Evaluate client activity to identify potential compliance exposure, refund opportunities, and areas for improvement.

  • Turn research into solutions. Investigate supplemental duty bills, penalties, classification questions, and other trade issues and translate your findings into practical recommendations.

  • Manage critical post-entry work. Compile customs documentation, coordinate post-entry filings, and maintain visibility into refunds, CBP requests, and entry status.

  • Shape client engagements. Help develop scopes of work, trade-related presentations, and recommendations tailored to client needs.

  • Share what you know. Serve as a resource to colleagues and contribute your expertise to team discussions, process improvements, and business development initiatives.

What You Bring
