Description

As a Trading Assistant at Kappa Lab, you will be working within a trading team, playing a pivotal role in assisting traders and developers in a range of tasks that all contribute to the improvement of our existing trading systems.

You will be working at the forefront of the rapidly evolving world of cryptocurrency trading. This position demands a blend of problem-solving skills, adaptability, and collaborative teamwork. If you possess a strong background in programming, excellent analytical skills, and an interest in the crypto markets, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Support traders and developers by monitoring live trading systems, identifying anomalies, and reporting issues promptly to ensure minimal downtime.
• Assist in data collection, cleaning, and analysis to support strategy development and performance evaluation.
• Help with backtesting and simulation of trading strategies by preparing datasets and running predefined models under supervision.
• Monitor market conditions, news, and regulatory updates in the cryptocurrency space, providing summaries and alerts to the trading team.
• Contribute to risk management by tracking key metrics, such as position sizes and exposure levels, and assisting in the implementation of basic controls.

Required skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful insights.
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency markets, trading platforms, and basic financial concepts (e.g., liquidity, volatility).
• Problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new tools and processes.

Desirable skills

• Experience in a trading position.
• Understanding of blockchain technology, Web3 ecosystems, or DeFi protocols.
• Familiarity with SQL for querying databases and extracting trading data.
• Exposure to version control systems like Git for managing code and documentation changes.
• Basic understanding of statistical analysis or machine learning concepts applied to trading.
• Experience with monitoring tools or APIs for real-time market data feeds.
