In this role, you will be pivotal in establishing and scaling user research practices across product teams, tackling high-value customer problems. Your contributions will not only enhance user experiences but also empower product managers and designers to conduct autonomous, high-quality discovery phases. As a senior individual contributor, you will have significant autonomy and influence, shaping research operations while also remaining hands-on in impactful projects. This position sets the groundwork for a potential future leadership role in research.
Accountabilities
- Build and steer the UX research practice, defining standards, processes, methodologies, and participant management.
- Enable product managers and designers to conduct effective discovery by supporting research plans and method choices.
- Act as a quality assurance for research throughout the organization.
- Lead hands-on discovery research for high-stakes initiatives.
- Synthesize prior research regularly to identify insights and common opportunities.
- Manage key deliverables like personas and journey maps as live documents for all departments.
- Maintain a centralized repository for research insights to facilitate accessibility and reuse.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, Data, and Leadership.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in UX Research, ideally in B2B and scale-up environments.
- Strong capability in mixed-methods research, selecting the right approach based on the problem.
- Demonstrated ability to empower non-researchers to conduct research while upholding quality standards.
- Experience with strategic discovery research beyond mere feature validation.
- Excellent synthesis and communication skills for transforming insights into actionable narratives.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity with a pragmatic, impact-driven mindset.
- Collaborative and service-oriented, ready to challenge assumptions when necessary.
