Renewable Energy Site Engineer

Summary:

Our client is seeking a Renewable Energy Site Engineer to join their team! This hybrid position supports the Civil/Site design of renewable energy projects, including solar farms, battery energy storage systems, and other clean energy developments. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge in site planning, grading, stormwater management, and permitting processes, while effectively collaborating with clients, contractors, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct site visits to assess feasibility for renewable energy developments
• Assist in creating preliminary site layouts for solar and storage projects
• Develop comprehensive design packages, including site plans, structural drawings, and engineering calculations
• Prepare detailed construction documents for permitting and construction
  
• Support state and local permitting application processes, including environmental and stormwater compliance
• Collaborate with project stakeholders such as engineers, contractors, clients, and internal teams
• Deliver high-quality designs within scope, schedule, and budget expectations

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in civil/site engineering is required
• 5+ years of experience with site development, Civil 3D design in the state of New York's Solar space
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience with site plan design, grading, stormwater/hydraulic calculations, and renewable energy projects
• Familiarity with SEQR, DEC stormwater permitting, and relevant code review
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and within a team

Education/Certification Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required
• EIT or PE required
