Job Description - Rental Operations Specialist


SUMMARY: The Rental Operations Specialist is responsible for prepping, cleaning, testing, and checking in all variants of Survey and MGIS equipment that Allterra offers. They will also trouble shoot gear and accessories to ensure we are only keeping working products on our shelves and disposing of/sending off all damaged gear to service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Test all outgoing equipment for rental orders;
  • Test all equipment being returned for issues to be billed or sent off to service for repair;
  • Clean all in coming and outgoing equipment;
  • Shipping and Receiving;
  • Handle walk-in clients (pending rentals and rental returns);
  • Help with inventory control/tracking to minimize equipment loss;
  • Responsible for goals set by supervisor.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • None

Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required. 
  • Ability to accomplish planned weekly and monthly schedules
  • Ability to speak in a professional manner
  • Computer Literate – MS Office preferred
  • Ability to work with others and take direction

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience using Trimble survey, construction or MGIS products and software. Trimble FieldLink experience a plus
  • Ability to multitask

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Strong attention to detail and adaptability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet and SharePoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Flexibility to work past normal business hours as necessary.

COMPUTER SKILLS/EQUIPMENT USED:

  • General office equipment (computer, printer, fax, copy machine), scanner, calculator.
  • Computer knowledge in a Windows environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Professional, clean and comfortable office environment.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand and use hands to grasp, manipulate or feel objects. The employee is frequently required to walk, and occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb or balance and reach with hands and arms.
  • May be required to lift, carry or move and position items weighing up to 25 lbs. as necessary.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires daily work on a computer for 6 hours or more viewing the screen and fingering the keys.
  • Ability to move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
