5th on Main located at 517 Main St Hopkins MN is currently seeking to hire an experienced Property Caretaker.

Caretakers take care of the maintenance and security of the community areas of the buildings and property. Their duties include cleaning, performing simple repairs and maintenance tasks and performing security checks. Caretaker position requires. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary.

Full Time: Mon - Fri 9am - 6 pm.

Pay starts at $21 - $23 per hour depending on experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Daily duties

•  Daily tasks are done timely and consistently. 
•  Sanitize all surfaces daily.
•  Clean exterior windows and doors daily
•  Clean hallways, entry, and laundry in all buildings daily
•  Open & secure lobby for main building daily
•  Responsible for assisting with lock outs.
•  Uses checklist to ensure attention to detail for Turns.
•  Completes turn timely and with high quality.
•  Has daily routine that changes seasonally to cover areas of responsibility. 
•  Grounds are clean, well maintained and improved as needed.
•  Service requests are issued when repairs are needed.
•  Weeding is done as needed and sprayed to prevent further growth.
•  Ash trays are cleaned regularly.
•  Dog droppings are collected, and walks washed as needed.
•  Plants are maintained.
•  Salt/Sand sidewalks and parking lot as needed.
•  Is attentive to all halls, entrances, and public facilities.
•  All door closers are working properly, and service requested when necessary.
•  Weekly inspection of laundry rooms, hallways, and balconies
•  Necessary items are reported to PM for service requests.
•  Cleans Mechanical and Elevator rooms monthly.
•  Supply room and janitors’ closet are organized and clean. 
•  Janitor supplies are stocked and kept up for reorder as needed.
•  Furniture and appliance inventory is clean, orderly and items marked clearly.
•  Communicates with PM regularly at the end of the shift.
•  Documents necessary information for each task
•  Utilizes tools and follows up for areas of improvement.

Required Skills/Abilities:

•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•  Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
•  Detail-oriented and thorough.
•  Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
•  Ability to keep the property clean and orderly.
•  Good interpersonal skills with polite and courteous demeanor toward staff, customers, clients, and visitors to the property.
•  Ability to work independently.

Education and Experience:

•  High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
• Must pass a background check.
• Must have 1 year experience as caretaker or combination of relevant skills.

Physical Requirements:

•  Prolonged periods standing/walking.
•  Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
•  Willingness to work varying shift lengths depending on seasonal demands.
