A Rental Sales Manager is a key position within the rental industry, responsible for overseeing the equipment rental sales team. This role demands a combination of sales acumen, managerial expertise, and a deep understanding of the rental equipment market, particularly within the temporary air industry. The primary objective of the Rental Sales Manager is to drive revenue growth by effectively promoting and leasing equipment while ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining a strong focus on safety.
Responsibilities
Sales and Marketing
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve rental revenue targets.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and customer needs.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
Team Leadership
Recruit, train, and mentor sales staff to enhance their skills and productivity.
Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations to monitor progress.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to motivate the team.
Lead by example in demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure all rental operations comply with industry safety standards and regulations.
Conduct regular safety training sessions for the sales team.
Monitor and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
Stay informed about the latest safety practices and integrate them into daily operations.
Qualifications
Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
Relevant certifications in sales management or equipment rental are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales management, preferably within the equipment rental industry.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong understanding of rental equipment, especially within the temporary air industry.
Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong negotiation and closing abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
