JOB DESCRIPTION


 


Job Title:            Rental Sales Representative


Reports to:        Rental Sales Manager


FLSA Status:     Exempt


Division:            HPC


Department:      Sales


Locations:         Waipahu


 


POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Rental Sales Manager, the Sales Representative achieves departmental sales goals through direct personal sales contact with rental, marine, and used equipment customers.


 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  1. Develops, implements, and executes a marketing plan for an assigned customer base and geographic territory.

  2. Develops and expands current customer database and updates it monthly, utilizing Sales Link.

  3. Sells and rents new and used machinery. Completes sales invoices.

  4. Upon request, provides financial counseling and marketing to entire customer base to facilitate sales. Makes sure customers are invoiced and funds received by the Company.

  5. Cold calls to develop new accounts and to add to database.

  6. Controls expenses required in sales transactions and adheres to Hawthorne guidelines.

  7. Performs other duties as assigned.


 


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:



  1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

  2. Must have previous sales experience in the heavy equipment industry.

  3. Must have a valid Drivers License with a good driving record.

  4. Must have PC skills.

  5. Must have the ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.

  6. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.

  7. Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter.

  8. Must be organized and a good planner.

  9. Must have the ability to set and meet goals.


 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  1. Walking: Moves about on foot, often through uneven terrain.

  2. Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.

  3. Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous paperwork.

  4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.

  5. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.

  6. Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.

  7. Vision: Reads computer and paperwork.

  8. Talking: Communicates by phone and in person.

  9. Sitting: Sits at desk for extended periods.


 


ENVIRONMENTAL:          



  1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.

  2. Temp/Weather: Works outside and in an office environment with variations of temperature and weather.

  3. Exposure: Subject to foul odors, fumes, and harsh substances.
