Job Title:          Rental Service Manager              

Reports to:       Branch Operations Manager 

FLSA Status:    Exempt  

Division:          HRIS 

Department:     Service  

Locations:        HRIS 

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Rental Service Manager will be responsible for the operational efficiency of the branch. The Rental Service Manager will provide our customers with well-maintained rental equipment and provide exceptional customer service. A key function is the scheduling and prioritizing of rental equipment repairs in a safe and timely manner, providing direction and oversight to the service team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:          

1. Oversees and direct all activities necessary to maintain a safe and efficient rental service operation.  


2. Prioritizes machine repairs both in the yard and in the field. 


3. Assists Rental Coordinators in recovering and repairing customer damage.  


4. Manages operations to ensure productivity, customer service, and profitability. 


5. Ensures that all work orders are opened and closed accurately and on time. 


6. Oversees facility issues and resolves any problems, including cleanliness and efficiency of the entire yard. 


7. Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

1. Drives accountability, coaching and mentoring of personnel.


2. Oversees all safety matters, including audits, safety training, OSHA compliance, DOT regulations, and drug and alcohol testing, when necessary. 


3. Ensures the service team is compliant with all required training.  


4. Codes and approves authorized accounts workflow payable invoices. 


5. Interfaces with Branch Manager and Technical Communicator, to ensure all warranties are all recovered. 


6. Interfaces and communicates effectively with customers regarding scheduled maintenance and equipment repairs. 


7. Manages Payroll for direct reports and WIP employees.  


8. Collaborates with Branch Manager to implement changes streamline operations to ensure a more productive, effective, and efficient running branch


9. Assists with hands on training of technicians. 


10. Other duties as assigned by leadership team. 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: 

1. Must have 3 - 5 years of Management experience. 

1. Must have 5 years of industry experience.  

1. PC skills required. 

1. Must have a valid California Class C Drivers License. 

1. Strong customer service experience for internal and external customers 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

1. Walking and moving about on foot often through uneven terrain. 

1. Handling:  Picks up items, helps or works with hands. 

1. Lifting:  Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts. 

1. Reaching:  Extends hands and arms in any direction. 

1. Stooping:  Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist. 

1. Standing:  Remains in standing position.  If required to perform various functions of the job. 

1. Climbing:  In and out of equipment. 

1. Vision:  Read work tickets and parts books. 

1. Talking:  Communications by radio, phone, and in person. 

1. Sitting:  Sits in equipment and in vehicles. 

ENVIRONMENTAL:         

1. Noise:    Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise. 

1. Temp/Weather:  Works in a warehouse and outside with variations of temperature and weather. 

1. Exposure:  Foul odors, fumes and harsh substances.
