Rental Specialist

About the role: In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for helping customers rent the right equipment for the job. You’ll work directly with customers and team members to coordinate equipment reservations, deliveries, and returns, all while ensuring the best customer experience possible. You’ll play a vital role in supporting the operations and living out The Leppo Way every day.

Business Operating Hours/Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30 am - 5:00 pm

In this role you can expect to:

1. 
   Customer Service & Sales Support:
   
   
   
   • Greet customers in person and over the phone with a friendly, professional attitude.
   
   
   • Ask the right questions to determine customer equipment needs and recommend the best rental solutions.
   
   
   • Provide alternative suggestions when equipment is unavailable and help problem-solve in real-time.
   
   
   
   


2. 
   Rental Coordination:
   
   
   
   • Manage the rental process from start to finish: enter orders, schedule pickups/deliveries, and finalize contracts.
   
   
   • Communicate with the yard and delivery teams to ensure smooth logistics and timelines.
   
   
   • Monitor your store’s equipment inventory, working with other locations to source equipment as needed.
   
   
   
   


3. 
   Operations & Fleet Management:
   
   
   
   • Ensure rental equipment is ready to go by coordinating service and maintenance needs.
   
   
   • Help swap downed units and stay on top of service work orders for rental items.
   
   
   • Track and act on key performance indicators (KPIs) for rental success.
   
   
   
   


4. 
   Additional Duties:
   
   
   
   • Handle customer issues professionally and efficiently.
   
   
   • Process payments, maintain your cash drawer, and manage billing for account customers.
   
   
   • Jump in where needed—this could include light loading/unloading, dispatching, or assisting other departments.
   
   
   
   

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Trade School


• Experience in equipment rental or related industry preferred (but not required)


• Strong customer service and communication skills


• Proficient with computers and multitasking in a fast-paced environment


• Problem-solver with the ability to “think on your feet”


• Team player with a strong work ethic
