Summary The Warranty Technician is responsible for testing, and refurbishing warranty failures for use in the parts department. Full technical training will be provided. This role involves programming new controls, refurbishing returns, removing functional components for future use, and packaging all rebuilt items for distribution.
Major Areas of Responsibility Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Safety minded in all work activities; suggest and recommend safety initiatives; commitment to safe work habits, maintaining work are organized aligned with 5S.
Program controls for the Parts department to meet operational specifications.
Program and serialize mod kits with correct software versions.
Test incoming warranty failures to diagnose issues accurately.
Maintain records of all warranty failures with issues found while testing.
Refurbish defective parts to restore functionality and meet quality standards.
Remove key components from warranty failures and cores as needed.
Ensure that work instructions are followed precisely.
Maintain safe and organized work areas.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities This position requires the following essential knowledge, skills, and abilities to satisfactorily fulfill the role:
Troubleshooting and repair of electronic components.
Ability to organize the work area in a systematic and orderly fashion.
Detailed oriented using fine visual skills.
Well-organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment for an extended period.
Other duties as assigned to support other group functions.
Ability to use hand tools to perform tasks related to refurbishing parts.
Education and Experience
1-2 years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of electronic components.
1-2 years of shipping experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, and Outlook)
Forklift experience preferred.
Physical Demands While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. This is primarily a standing/walking position for up to 10 hours per day in a manufacturing factory environment. Ability to lift 50 or more pounds both overhead and at waist level. The employee is occasionally required to reach with arms and hands, climb stairs, and bend to the floor. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Work Environment Exposure to intermediate/loud noise is expected when working in the manufacturing environment. The work environment is climate controlled.
