Description

Prepares and analyzes financial information to provide accurate and useful information to management for review and decision making. May prepare reports, financial statements, billings to external agencies and grantors, provide administrative and budget support, reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
 

  • Advises department and faculty of potential problems (over or under spending funds) and provide recommendations for corrective action. Prepare complex cost estimates and projections for various components of the award to assist the principal investigator. Interacts with funding agencies on matters of award administration including financial status reports and award closures. Serves as a liaison between the administration, faculty and staff of the University including the Foundation. 
  • Interprets and communicates policies, procedures, agency regulations, application deadlines, agency reports, award related requests, etc. to faculty, staff and private sponsors. Prepares complex cost estimates and projections for various financial components of the award. 
  • Assists with preparing the University’s year end closing, financial statements and other regulatory reporting. Prepare and submit interim and year end documents to sponsoring agencies. Develops and generates periodic reports to analyze spending of large/complex accounts to ensure compliance with regulations specified by each agency. 
  • Administers the fiscal management of federal, state, local and private research grants. Performs complex analysis and administrative functions of post award activities for grants, contracts, etc. 
  • Completes drawdown administration for various federal, state and other sponsored agencies. Advises administrator of any spending not in conformance with sponsor/university policies. Reviews effort reporting, indirect cost charges, and other grant related expenditures. 
  • Other related duties as assigned. 
     


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting or a business-related field and a minimum of four years of professional accounting work experience.
