Provides pre-award support for the 5 academic departments in the College of Science. Research Administration Specialist 1
Job Duties
45% Coordinate proposal development and processing for approval, signature, and submission to external sponsors for College of Science departments with limited supervision; prepare proposal packages in sponsor portal; assist faculty in routing proposals through InfoEd (GeauxGrants) to meet internal and external deadlines; review proposals for compliance with sponsor requests and College/University procedures/policies; assist in obtaining University waivers, cost-sharing commitments, and special approvals; assists in resolving issues through discussions with faculty and administrators.
20% Provide administrative support for College of Science grants and contracts; transmit account requests and University forms to OSP for approval and submission; receive, review, and forward notifications for all awards; route contracts and amendments for faculty and University approval; assist in preparing and processing subcontract and award forms; coordinate with the departments regarding post-award management.
20% Maintain College of Science records for proposals and awards; assist with research reporting; assist with website maintenance; assist with developing training materials; serve as back-up support for other research administration specialists.
10% Serve as liaison between faculty, staff, College of Science Dean’s Office, the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), the Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED), and Sponsored Program Accounting (SPA) for individual proposals. Keep abreast of federal, agency-specific, and university research regulations and requirements; attend appropriate seminars, trainings, workshops, and webinars.
5% Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
