Sigvaris is currently looking for Research & Development Technician to join our team in Peachtree City, GA.  As a leading compression solution provider, we are not just a company that manufactures products.  We are a global team on a mission to help people feel their best.  Within the established objectives and guidelines of the Director of Quality Assurance and SIGVARIS Marketing Strategies, the Research & Development Technician supports the development and improvement of SIGVARIS products.  This position's focus encompasses expertise as a Knitting Machine Technician, able to design, program, set-up, and repair state-of-the-art electronic knitting machines to produce medical and support compression garments.

SHIFT:

     • Monday to Friday:  1st shift

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     • Set up Knitting Machines to run tests, evaluation, and samples based on clear objectives and understanding of goals.

     • Track project tests and maintain orderly documentation of activities.

     • Make recommendations to the organization on best direction of activities to fulfill established time lines.

     • Make recommendations for product improvements based on customer feedback provided by Quality Assurance.

     • Perform product improvements as assigned.

     • Provide support to Customer Service by fielding questions or concerns from customers regarding technical aspects of Sigvaris product.

     • Support Project Releases to Manufacturing to train, clarify, and update Specifications and Processes as necessary.

     • Fosters positive morale among staff, by promotion of open communication with all departments, to help create and maintain an innovative and cooperative staff relationship and environment.

          o Interacts with external and internal customers in a manner conducive to continued positive relationships.

          o Displays patience, courtesy and tact; demonstrates flexibility, enthusiasm and willingness to cooperate while working with others or in place of others as necessary.

     • Demonstrates effective communication methods.

          o Supervisor and/or appropriate management staff are kept informed of developments affecting their functions.

          o Responds quickly to all oral and written communications.

          o Maintains and encourages an open line of communication with both internal and external customers.

          o Checks and responds to voice mail messages in a timely manner.

          o Accurately and legibly presents written data to affected internal/external customer.

     • Follows established company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SIGVARIS policies, industry standards, ISO 13485 standards, 6S and Lean Manufacturing, and Federal, State and local laws.

     • Assists with the implementation of Lean/Kaizen initiatives or events in the department.

     • Follows all work instructions, creates and maintains accurate records to meet all internal and external requirements to support the SIGVARIS Quality System and Quality Policy.

     • Accurately performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure an efficient workflow. 

Requirements

EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE:

     • A high school diploma or equivalent.

     • Three to five years of experience as a Knitting Machine Technician     

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

     • Regularly required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

     • Ability to walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, bend, lift or climb.

     • Regularly required to lift weights (up to 50 pounds).

     • Finger dexterity and hand coordination required.

     • Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus.
