Research Associate

About the Role

Talarico for Texas is building a movement to take back power for working people. The campaign is seeking a full-time Research Associate to report directly to the Deputy Research Director and support the research team in producing high-quality self and opposition research

Responsibilities

• Assist with both short- and long-term research projects, including reviewing news clips, public records, campaign finance reports, and legislative materials.
• Conduct vetting and due diligence projects
• Support rapid response research needs
• Conduct on-location research as necessary
• Additional support to the Research department as needed

Qualifications

• Prior campaign research experience is preferred, but candidates with prior campaign experience or policy research backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Discretion when dealing with sensitive information
• Ability to learn quickly, implement feedback, and meet tight deadlines under pressure
• Willingness to be a team player and support colleagues and the campaign at large

Reports to: Deputy Research Director
Location: Austin, Texas (statewide travel sometimes required)

Salary: $5,000 per month
