Conduct directed research to develop novel bio
-based and sustainable ingredients for all business sectors. Document all work following established procedures. Provide technical support and service to relevant departments and divisions. Perform all duties within the guidelines of Company"s safety, health & environmental regulations. All other duties as assigned by management.

*Lead research projects using existing or new enabling technologies to create new ingredients and processes that are aligned with Sustainability Commitment to be land, climate and people positive
*Scientist will support the design, development, synthesis, and purifications of materials
*Evaluate physical and chemical properties of newly developed products vs existing products and benchmarks
*Expected to enhance knowledge of technology area and relevant scientific techniques to continuously improve research capability
*Document work in notebooks and/or databases as appropriate including manufacturing packages, methods, technical reports, etc
*Serve as technical resource in supporting the smooth transfer of new product and processes to regional production sites
*Working with IP lawyers, research IP landscape and freedom to operate, and support the filing of patents
*Work with regulatory teams to ensure new ideas comply with regulations
*Collaborate with cross
-functional teams to commercialize products
*Support customer visits and training related to upstream innovation projects

Qualifications

Education and Training:
MS in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related field.
PhD in these fields is preferred.

Knowledge and Experience:
* Knowledge of natural product chemistry, enzymatic catalysis, bioprocessing, sustainable and green chemistry is highly desirable.
* 5+ years of relevant experience in the industrial or academic setting is preferred.
* Strong background in a broad range of synthetic organic chemistry knowledge which includes the planning and execution of synthetic reactions.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- written and verbal.

Physical Demands:
Able to walk, stand or sit for a minimum of 8 hours per day. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
