As a Property Records Exemption Specialist, you will have the opportunity to provide excellent customer service to the public.
The ideal Property Records Exemption Specialist has excellent public relations skills, is adaptable, organized, and has a positive attitude.
As the Property Records Exemption Specialist, you will work directly with property owners regarding ownership and exemption issues allowing you to have a direct impact on the community.
Responsibilities:
Interpret official documents regarding ownership.
Process all types of exemption applications.
Work customer service on the phone and in person.
Review reports for quality control and audits.
Prepare journal entries to correct accounts on previously certified rolls.
Work with Appraisal Groups.
Other duties as assigned.

Salary starts at $35,200 to $40,653 DOE

Requirements
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Software.
The ability to concentrate on assigned tasks and to manage time effectively.
The ability to ask questions that will bring forth the information needed to assist the customer efficiently.
The ability to communicate clearly on the telephone and face to face. Additionally strong written communication skills are necessary.
Experience with U.S. Mail, UPS, Express Mail Carriers and procedures is beneficial.
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time with ability to reach, bend and move up/down.
The ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds of files or equipment.
Applicant must be able to pass a standardized skill test administered by the District.
If assigned to deliver and retrieve mail to and from the Post Office, must possess a valid Texas Driver's License and comply with the DCAD automobile insurance requirements (Auto Allowance provided)
Preferred:
Bilingual in Spanish - (read and speak)
Office experience with knowledge of office equipment, postage meters, and other office equipment
Previous customer service, appraisal or tax office experience
