Job Summary
Responsibilities
Work with the Medical Education Manager to oversee the construction and assignment of complex resident schedules, ensuring they align with the specifications and account for prerequisites, on‑call coverage, section-specific timing preferences, sequencing constraints, and limits on the number of residents per rotation.
Determine special needs and assure that department, education, and regulatory criteria are met.
Prepare statistical material needed to meet accreditation and evaluation requirements of the program.
Manage recruitment-related expenditure: advertising, print materials.
Monitor and maintain current awareness of individual curricula and activities. Ensure appropriate documentation of training experience for compliance requirements for program accreditation.
Assist with accreditation reviews, including documentation and faculty participation.
Direct yearly recruitment activities for the residency program.
Direct the faculty selection committee, in conjunction with the Program Director. Uphold and monitor faculty commitment to recruiting. Organize and supervise their review of applicants. Use national and professional society data to evaluate recruitment activities with a constant eye toward improvement.
Work closely with the Medical Education Manager to manage conferences, lectures, simulation sessions, special events, training sessions, and workshops. Facilitate creation of didactic schedules.
Working closely with the Medical Education Manager on the requirements of the clinical and academic training programs, including accreditation, duty schedules, evaluation process, resident recruitment, and medical education, match process, orientation, and employee relations.
Prepare reports for, and ensure compliance with, procedures regarding licensing, moonlighting, annual contracts, and initial and re-credentialing of trainees.
Record and coordinate payment process related to additional shifts and associated payments.
Partner with faculty, academic affairs, and other leadership to attract and retain learners and provide an exceptional experience.
Facilitate the use of learning management systems and other educational technologies.
Coordinate and interpret requirements of the training program, including accreditation, duty schedules, evaluation process, resident recruitment, Match process, orientation, and employee relations.
Coordinate orientation for incoming PGY1 residents and rising PGY2 level residents, including onboarding sessions and didactic conferences & simulation sessions.
Oversee reporting and compliance with procedures regarding licensing, moonlighting, annual contracts, and initial and re-credentialing of trainees.
Administer required annual examinations to residents, including incoming residents.
Coordinates and interprets requirements of the training program, including accreditation, duty schedules, evaluation process, resident/fellowship recruitment, Match process, orientation and employees relations.
Has a moderate/high level of authority in reporting and ensuring compliance with procedures regarding licensing, moonlighting, annual contracts, and initial and re-credentialing of trainees.
Performs other related work as needed.
