Resident Assistant Night Shift

Job Summary:

The Night Resident Assistant monitors the safety of residents, performs general cleaning of the facility with approved products, does personal and linen laundry, and provides personal care to residents as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist with personal care, including assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and transfers as needed.


• Document tasks provided on Point of Care (POC).


• Night checks to monitor resident safety.


• Responsible for general housekeeping tasks as assigned. Clean front entrance, hallways, offices, lounges, public restrooms, employee lounge, beauty shop, laundry rooms, service area, and recreation area as assigned.


• Replenish supplies in public areas.


• Gather trash and take to outside to dumpster.


• Collect recyclables and take them to recycling area in lower-level service area.


• Responsible for washing and drying resident laundry in separate loads using appropriate water level, temperature and detergent in washer and appropriate temperature and load size in dryer.


• Fold laundry or hang on hangers.


• Perform other duties as assigned.


• Willingness to cross-train and assist where needed.


• The employee is required to maintain all HIPAA information in confidentiality.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must be able to demonstrate ability to read, write, and understand information and directions in English.


• Must be able to use Point Click Care on iPad.

Education/Experience:

• Experience in personal care.


• Experience in housekeeping.


• STNA certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must exhibit clean and neat personal appearance.


• Must be in good physical health.


• Must be able to stay awake during the night.


• Must be able to walk to resident apartments.


• Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
