Resident Engineer

A multi-discipline engineering firm with over 70 years in business is looking for a Resident Engineer for their Huntington, New York office! 

Responsibilities:

• Provide management oversight on assigned project
  


• Manage staff on assigned projects
  


• Lead project site coordination meetings
  


• Ensure approved plans, specifications, and ordinances are followed, including required testing and material inspections
  


• Variety of duties including quality assurance, testing procedures, observation protocols, construction techniques and timely completion of daily observation activities
  


• Interpret drawings/specifications
  


• Review of submittals and other construction documents
  


• Monitor contract cost/schedule
  


• Review change order preparation
  


• Perform daily construction observation and punch list inspections
  


• Prepare daily reports
  


• Participate in project schedule/invoice reviews
  


• Review/approve contractor requisitions for payment
  


• Mentor/train junior staff
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  


• 6+ years of construction inspection or infrastructure project management experience (water, wastewater, road construction, architectural/mason construction)
  


• P.E. License
