Hoyle Tanner's Northeast Ground Transportation Services Group is looking for a Resident Engineer to join our team in our Manchester New Hampshire or Chelmsford, Massachusetts office.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitor and review spent hours and dollars versus percent complete in relation to project timelines and budget and provide recommendations to the Project Manager to stay on track
• Understand the client's organization and develop professional relationships with client peers
• Develop proficiency in software programs and other tools to support construction inspection and review processes
• Provide suggestions to resolve project timeline issues and budget issues
• Provide peer mentoring for new construction technician staff
• Review and approve progress payments submitted by the Contractor and monitor and advise the Contractor and the Client on potential cost overruns/underruns
• Facilitate difficult project decisions and technical issues with clients and contractors
• Ensure as-built field conditions are well documented and defended
• Lead regular meetings with clients and contractors
• Prepare, review, and approve change orders and value engineering proposals
• Thoroughly review construction schedule, offer comments and recommendations to the Contractor and Client to resolve discrepancies, areas of conflict, potential schedule overruns

Requirements

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in civil engineering or a related field, and 5+ years of construction inspection experience
• PE Licensure
• Certification in OSHA 10 Construction and Confined Space for Construction, OR HAZWOPER
• Valid driver’s license
• Certification in one or more of the programs offered by NICET, ACI, NETTCP or approved alternate
• Ability to perform tasks that involve moderate to strenuous physical activity
