Job Description - Resident Monitor

New Day Recovery located in Niles is looking to hire a Resident Monitor for our Detox and residential facilities. This role would be responsible for providing client assistance in daily living, crisis intervention and other services to assist the client in the treatment process. 


 


This will be a Midnight position Sunday through Wednesday 10 hour shifts.

Duties & Responsibilities: 



  • Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of New Day Recovery.

  • Attend to the needs of the clientele while assisting their engagement in daily living.

  • Respond and interact with clients and staff professionally, treating them with respect and dignity.

  • Answer phones.

  • Assist with Client Intakes.

  • Complete rounding.

  • Collaborate with medical staff and other treatment personnel.

  • Facilitate discharges and complete discharge documentation.


 


Requirements:



  • Combination of experience and education normally represented by High School Diploma with 1-2 years relevant work experience required.

  • Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships.

  • Must be organized, detail oriented and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Must have competent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of computers and familiarity of Microsoft Office.

  • Experience working with a team of professional staff desirable.

  • Must be 18 years of age.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to effectively function as a Recovery Housing team member.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Possess and demonstrate exceptional communication and organizational skills.



  • Must demonstrate the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment customarily and regularly in significant matters.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to relate with empathy and sensitivity to staff, clients, and the community.


 


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:


CPR/First Aid            


Valid Driver’s License


 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Ability to perform job responsibilities in a facility with multiple levels and without elevator or mechanical transportation.

  • Operates a computer and keyboard.
