Job Description - Resident Services Coordinator

Description

South Portland Housing Authority is seeking a well-organized individual, with excellent customer service skills, the capability to work independently with a diverse population, be a self-starter, creative and resourceful to join our resident services team.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Resident Services Coordinator in conjunction with the Director of Resident Services will develop relationships and function as an advocate for residents and communities. This position will assist residents with support to help achieve their life goals and learn about services that may benefit health, independence, and overall wellbeing.  They will also identify community resources to link residents to services, respond to reasonable accommodations, and work with residents to develop social programming and on-site services and seminars to enhance the quality of life. 

 

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred.
  2. 2-4 years of work experience in a social service environment preferred.
  3. Knowledge of community services and social service agencies.
  4. Experience working with elderly, individuals living with mental health conditions and diverse populations. 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Excellent problem-solving skills and capacity to handle stressful situations. 
  2. Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Possess a Valid Maine Driver’s license. 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Involves daily driving and travel between properties.
  2. Ability to be on foot for long periods of walking.
