Come Join the Team and Help Change Lives!
Who We Are
Changing Lives at Home is a community-based environment where our team strives to rebuild hope and encourage better life experiences for the children and adults who are faced with unimaginable difficulties within the areas we serve. We rebuild hope with holistic community-based rehabilitation services and a seamless system of mental and behavioral health care that is responsive to the social, psychological, cultural, and biological needs of all individuals and families.
Changing Lives at Home has an immediate opening for a full-time Residential Group Home House Manager to oversee our residential group home for youth in Baltimore.
The Group Home Manager is responsible for managing the overall operations of the home, including but not limited to daily staffing, performance management, youth programming, training and budgeting, scheduling and assisting with direct care as needed. Responsibilities include:
The Group Home Manager Skills:
Group home managers need the following skills in order to be successful:
Leadership: Leadership is the ability to motivate and inspire others to work together to achieve a common goal. Group home managers use their leadership skills to manage their team and ensure they complete their daily tasks. They also use leadership to ensure their team members feel valued and respected.
Communication: Communication is the act of conveying information to others. Group home managers use communication skills to convey information to their team members, youth and leadership. They also use communication skills to listen to feedback from their team members and youth.
Time management: Time management is another skill that can be useful for group home managers. This is because they often have many responsibilities to complete in a day and may need to prioritize their tasks. For example, a group home manager may need to prepare meals for their group members, ensure that the group members are attending their scheduled appointments and complete paperwork for the group home. A group home manager with good time management skills can ensure that they complete all of their tasks in a timely manner.
Problem-solving: Problem-solving skills allow you to identify and resolve issues that may arise in a group home. You may use problem-solving skills to help you and your team develop solutions to challenges that affect the home’s operations, such as a lack of resources or a behavioral issue among one of the home’s residents. You can also use problem-solving skills to identify and address issues that may affect the home’s residents, such as a medical emergency or a family emergency that requires a resident to leave the home.
