Residential Plumbing Department Manager

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plumbing Department Manager to lead and inspire our plumbing team.

The Plumbing Department Manager is responsible for the overall success of the plumbing division, including operations, staff management, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and adherence to safety and compliance standards. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong technical background and a passion for team development and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and manage a team of plumbing technicians and apprentices.
• Oversee daily operations including dispatch coordination, scheduling, and project planning.
• Ensure all plumbing work meets code requirements, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
• Monitor job costs, labor efficiency, and department profitability.
• Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide training/development opportunities.
• Collaborate with sales, customer service, and other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Handle escalated customer concerns professionally and ensure service recovery when needed.
• Manage inventory levels, tools, and fleet maintenance.
• Drive KPI performance including revenue targets, average ticket size, close rates, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Five (5)+ years of experience in residential or commercial plumbing, including management/supervisory roles.
• Valid Journeyman or Master Plumbing License (as required by local/state law).
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Solid understanding of plumbing systems, installation, repairs, and code compliance.
• Proficient with job costing, scheduling software, and CRM platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
• Ability to take and pass a background check. 
• A Valid Driver's License.
