Purpose of Position: To provide over-arching support to residents within assigned buildings that are part of the Crossroads Rhode Island portfolio. Liaises with case managers on a regular basis for those residents receiving more intensive supports. Orchestrates property management needs, including meeting with prospective tenants during the application process, and to act as a liaison between housing and facilities/maintenance. Promotes purposeful community-building activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Advocates for the mission of the organization and upholds the agency’s values.
Delivers services with safety, respect, and effectiveness.
Follows all policies and procedures of the organization.
Supports the process of interviews of prospective tenants and ensures proper recording of information relating to applicant eligibility.
Assists Leasing Clerk with move-in by reviewing house rules, community living, offered services and provides an orientation to the building.
Assists with crisis interventions when appropriate and necessary to do so.
Assists residents in obtaining basic needs such as food, shelter and clothing.
Collaborates with residents in developing meaningful daily activities for community members.
Coordinates with case managers for those residents receiving or requiring more intensive case management support.
Advocates/coordinates care on behalf of residents with external agencies
Conducts quarterly room inspections and initiates the appropriate follow-up.
Assists with all leasing activities as requested.
Act as a liaison between janitorial and maintenance staff.
Implements the procedures for the re-occupancy of vacant units.
Engages with community partners and providers.
Ensures that the facility is in proper working order and initiates repairs as needed.
Oversees the timely and complete move-out unit inspection and turnover.
Manages communication of the work order/task completion system
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience and Educations:
Bachelor’s degree OR
Certification in a Social Work/Human Services/Case Management field OR
Equivalent work experience
2-5 years’ office experience preferred.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must work well under pressure.
Must be flexible and able to multi-task.
Must be able to work effectively with populations that have experienced vulnerability, trauma, economic poverty, incarceration, substance use, developmental delays, compromised mental wellness, brain injuries, literacy, and numeracy issues, and/or, other conditions or situations that have impacted housing stability.
Must be solution-focused and organized in achieving objectives with all service users.
Must be able to motivate and organize self to complete tasks with service users, often in non-therapeutic environments.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the work environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Computer skills and data entry required.
Requires verbal and numerical intelligence.

Physical demands: coordinator will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers; lifting up to 20 pounds; speaking; listening; reaching; carrying; must spend long hours on the computer entering information which requires attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. There are a number of deadlines associated with this position.
Work environment: A busy office area; the incumbent is faced with constant interruptions and must meet with others on a regular basis, and deal with a wide variety of people on various issues.
