Job Description
The Residential Service Electrician will primarily focus on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining existing residential electrical systems. This role involves working independently to diagnose electrical issues, provide high-quality repairs, install upgrades, and ensure homeowner satisfaction. The Service Electrician will also perform routine maintenance, communicate effectively with customers, and uphold the company’s standards for quality, safety, and professionalism.
Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential electrical issues, including wiring, outlets, light fixtures, breaker panels, and other electrical components.
- Perform routine electrical system inspections, maintenance, and code compliance checks.
- Provide outstanding customer service by clearly explaining work performed, offering recommendations, and addressing homeowner concerns.
- Install smart devices such as smart switches, thermostats, and connected home technologies.
- Ensure all work meets local electrical codes, industry best practices, and company quality standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of service visits, including job notes, materials used, and time on site.
- Communicate daily job status updates to the Service Manager or relevant team members.
- Adhere to and maintain company safety protocols and standards at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to keep certifications and knowledge current.
Job Requirements (or Comparable Certifications)
- Minimum 2 years of residential electrical field experience, with proven expertise in troubleshooting and service work.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Strong understanding of electrical code requirements and the ability to ensure compliance on every job.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to homeowners.
- Ability to work efficiently under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple service calls.
- Self-motivated and task-driven, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop “on-the-spot” solutions.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed and travel overnight for training as required.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Proficiency using hand and power tools, with the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and at varying heights.

- Salary Range – $22/hr - $30/hr (depending on experience)
