Residential Specialist - Substance Abuse

National Capital Treatment & Recovery, formerly Phoenix House, a substance abuse treatment facility in Arlington, VA is currently seeking Residential Specialists to join our Coed Adult Residential Treatment Program. This is a 24 bed program for our Transitional Living Program. Responsibilities include monitoring the therapeutic milieu and activities, responding to patient crises and emergencies as needed. This position assures a safe and drug free environment and provides Life Skills and 12 Step Education.

Pay: $20-$25 an hour - with an opportunity to earn more based on experience, degrees, and other relevant qualifications.

Schedule Needed: Part-Time 4pm-12am Every other Sat & Sun

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a substance abuse counselor (CSAC-A, CAC, CSAC) required within 6 months of employment.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum one (1) year experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting preferred

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of addiction treatment and of 12 Step recovery process preferred
• Certified in First Aid and CPR, Medication Management a plus
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
