Job Description - Residential Support


    

Avondale House is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit agency that provides, educational services to individuals with autism, an adult day  program, where clients receive training in daily living skills and pre-vocational activities and residential homes for adults unable to live in their own home. This position will provide direct support to our residential program. Avondale House has been serving individuals with autism since 1976.  

Avondale House offers a generous benefit program that includes 401k and medical with an employer contribution, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, and paid time off (full-time positions only).

Shifts Available:Friday 3:30pm-11pm, Saturday 7am-11pm, and Sunday 7am-4pmSunday-Thursday, 3:30pm-11pmSunday-Thursday, 11pm-9amFriday & Saturday 11pm-7am

Job Duties:

· Insures the smooth operation of the assigned residential home, through coordination of house duties and implementation of each individual's IEP/IPP.

· Implements target goals and objectives as written on the individual's IEP/IPP.

· Keeps daily data and records on each individual's performance.

· Provides/supervises daily nutritional, health and hygiene care for all individuals assigned.

· Daily correspondence to appropriate persons as needed.

· Supervises self-administration of medication program.

· Supervises recreational outings. 

· Participates in monthly house meeting as part of staff development requirements. 

· Attends all in-service training classes as scheduled. 

· Insures completion and entry into Reboot system of daily house documentation, to include but not limited to fire drill reports, daily progress notes, cleaning checklists, incident reports, medication administration, attendance records and other documents as required.

· Maintains cleanliness of entire residence at all times.

· Maintains organization of bedrooms, including closets and drawers. 

· Works with staff throughout Avondale House to meet the needs of each client.


Requirements

 

· High school diploma or equivalent. 

· At least 1 year of experience working in a residential setting, preferably with individuals with autism or related handicapping conditions. 

· CPR certified.

· Patient, authoritative personality.

· Valid Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to implement CPI, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.

· Lifting up to 50 lbs.

· Ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, carry.
