This role leads the Resolution Planning Committee, coordinates regulatory interactions related to resolution/recovery planning, prepares materials for occasional Board-level engagement, and manages a small team (1–2 direct reports). In partnership with the Head of Investor Relations, Finance, Risk, Treasury/ALM, and Legal/Compliance, the Director delivers rigorous analysis and clear, compliant communications that support First Horizon’s investor story.

This role will be a good fit for you if you:

  • Demonstrate strong integrity and ethical standards; operate with discipline under regulatory frameworks and Reg FD

  • Possess deep banking knowledge across capital, liquidity, credit, operational resilience, and financial reporting

  • Are an effective leader and coach who can build process excellence and manage 1–2 associates with clarity and accountability

  • Communicate complex topics succinctly for C-suite executives, regulators, and occasional Board engagement

  • Drive cross-functional alignment and hold teams to deadlines in high-stakes, multi-workstream environments

  • Combine advanced analytical rigor with practical storytelling that informs investor and executive decision-making

  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Responsibilities:

Resolution planning leadership

  • Lead the Resolution Planning Committee: set agendas, drive workstream accountability, and ensure timely execution of deliverables

  • Own the multi-year resolution planning roadmap, including governance, playbooks, testing/exercises, and continuous improvement

  • Participate in regulatory interactions related to resolution/recovery planning; prepare materials, lead meetings, and manage responses to supervisory feedback

  • Develop clear, concise materials and briefing notes for occasional Board or Board committee engagement; present as needed with appropriate controls

  • Partner with Risk, Treasury/ALM, Finance, Operations/Technology, and Legal/Compliance to align planning assumptions, capabilities, and data quality

  • Maintain documentation standards, version control, and audit-ready evidence of processes, testing, approvals, and governance

Cross-functional analysis and IR support

  • Advise the Head of IR on investor themes through the earnings process

  • Lead or co-lead ad hoc analyses and projects for IR and the broader Finance organization

  • Support quarterly earnings and disclosure processes with data validation, KPI development, and narrative refinement for external materials

  • Monitor sell-side consensus, valuation drivers, and peer developments; synthesize implications for messaging and executive decision-making

Investor engagement and targeting

  • Provide and review data-driven insights for investor targeting and marketing strategies; support targeting lists and prepare background briefs for conferences, non-deal roadshows, and broker-hosted meetings

  • Analyze ownership trends, fund flows, and shareholder composition; prepare concise summaries for and present to IR leadership and the C-suite

Market intelligence and surveillance

  • Track regulatory updates and industry practices for resolution/recovery planning applicable to U.S. banks; recommend enhancements to keep the program current

  • Track relevant macro/regulatory themes and peer actions that may affect investor sentiment

Process, systems, and quality

  • Drive consistent, repeatable processes for data collection, validation, and version control across materials and models

  • Help maintain the IR website and investor FAQs to ensure information is accurate, timely, and aligned with external disclosures

  • Oversee and partner with vendors (e.g., market data, stock surveillance, CRM, webhosting) and help assess tools that improve IR efficiency and analytics

Team leadership and operations

  • Manage 1–2 direct reports; set goals, provide coaching and feedback, and support professional development

  • Establish repeatable processes for data collection, validation, controls, and versioning across resolution planning and IR workstreams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management, Public Policy, or related field or commiserate experience in relevant finance roles

  • 8+ years of experience in banking or financial services with direct exposure to resolution/recovery planning, treasury/ALM, risk management, regulatory affairs, investor relations, corporate finance, or FP&A

  • Strong knowledge of bank financial statements and core metrics: capital (CET1/ROTCE), liquidity, funding, NII/NIM, credit quality, PPNR, ACL/CECL concepts

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional programs with regulatory touchpoints and executive/Board communications

  • Advanced analytical skills in Excel and strong proficiency in PowerPoint; ability to build scenario analyses and executive-ready materials

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to distill complex topics for senior stakeholders
